We mainly distinguish two types of product. 

Standard  

In this case the functionalities required by the customer are already satisfied by one of our standard control module. In some cases there can be additional requirements concerning function. These will be implemented and modified by modifying the SW. The SW is based on a combination of the available functions in our library.

Customer specific

In the case of a customised solution (functionality, dimensions and the shape of the printed circuits, etc.) both the HW and the SW are realised according to each specific customer application. For a personalised project the MICROGENIE team is an active part of the cooperation with the customer. A very open and transparent cooperation is fundamental for METALLUX. For the HW part the platform is the module MUG0000 which will be adapted according to the customer application and modified concerning space, cost requirements, functionality, etc.

Concerning the SW in most cases the library already includes the desired functions that only need to be combined to obtain the required results. The MICROGENIE research team is particularly active in the brushless DC motor sector in order to study new possibilities and to assure always the best performance, like motor design, allowing the team to increase and improve their know how for offering the customer a better quality of support adapted to their needs.

A very interesting project that well represents the MICROGENIE philosophy is a motor driver for an automatic welding system. In the previous generation the electronic equipment used was a standard motor driver to control the speed of rotation and a second module to handle its operative functions. Thanks to our system it was possible to implement everything in one single unit for the automatic welding of cylindrical pieces. As a result, thanks to the flexibility of the MICROGENIE system this technique was also used for other functions, for instance to check the feeding of the electrode (and to maintain its tension). It was possible to select the desired function with a simple DIP-switch. The product is continuously expanding; since the customers discovered the flexibility of the system they had new ideas.
